Snow Holiday

We'd gotten a few inches of snow earlier in the week, but were a little surprised to wake up to this...

Picnic, anyone?

As we were pretty well snowed in, Chris stayed home from work and we decided to play!

December

December was an exceptionally busy month, as usual! So busy that...um...ahem...I only managed to remember to take pictures during the first half of the month - ack! Sooo bummed about that!! Thankfully, I'm sure the grandparents have some good pictures (hint, hint!). :)

We went, with a couple of friends, to several assisted living places where we sang Christmas carols and Allison played the piano. It was a lot of fun and we really enjoyed meeting everyone - a new tradition for us!

In the last post, you may have noticed that David learned how to take off his pants in November. Well...in December, he learned how to take off his pajamas - yikes! I was pretty thankful that he didn't bother trying to take off his diaper!

We had a fun time celebrating St. Nicholas Day and Christmas with so many friends and family members. I think this last year was the most family we've ever celebrated with and it was such a blessing!

Allison celebrated her ninth birthday. I just can't believe she's that old already! She asked for a dog cake and a tea party with a couple of friends. The girls were all so cute as they tried their darndest to be ladylike. :) It was very sweet!

David finally began eating more solid foods and drinking milk from a cup - two HUGE achievements!! He decided he likes cottage cheese. It's a bit messy, but he loves it and I love that he is eating something lumpy. :)

November

November included...

Abby learning to make her own bed!

David learning to climb on...everything!

The girls decorating gingerbread cookies.

David learning to take off...his pants?!

More yard work!

Catch up - October

Last fall, Abby found herself in need of some serious stitches! She fell down our garage steps and ended up getting two stitches inside her wound (ick!) and four on the outside. She was really brave throughout the whole ordeal and it's healed really nicely.

We celebrated David's first birthday in a casual way, just hanging out with family. He was rather curious about the toys hidden in paper and the bouncy balloons, but he really enjoyed the....ice cream!! Since he still couldn't manage to eat any solid foods, at the time, we went with ice cream sans cake. He didn't seem to mind in the least. :)
