October

School is in full swing, as are a plethora of other activities! Chris has started his new job and enjoys it very much. How could flying RC helicopters not be fun? :)

Allison has finished her first grade language arts studies and begun her second grade coursework. I was hesitant about the transfer from one to another (special phonics sounds to sentence structure), but she is doing exceedingly well. Allison is also attending our local AWANA program again this year and enjoys the time with her friends.

Abby is officially potty training - again! This time around is going a little more "smoothly." She attends our local library's story time once a week and loves it. Last weekend, she graduated to the 2 1/2 & 3 yr old class in Sunday school - the Busy Bee class. She is so proud to be with the "big" kids now. :)

We joined a new homeschool co-op last month. We meet once a week for classes. Allison is currently taking an Art and PE class. Many of her friends from AWANA also participate in the co-op. Abby and I spend the morning with the little kids, learning sign language, letters, hearing Bible stories and playing. Abby likes that she gets to "go to school" too!

Abby discovered a ball of my yarn. She promptly dubbed it her pet turtle.

After said turtle began to unravel (due to a technical difficulty with his "leash")...

mommy created a "new" (smaller) pet turtle, much to Abby's delight.

Here's Allison, dutifully reading for school.

Autumn

Autumn is nearly upon us and with it comes a rush of activities. We finished up the summer with a trip to The Enchanted Forest and the Oregon State Fair.

The girls really enjoyed The Enchanted Forest. We had fun watching them "ooh" and "ahh" over everything. :) We then headed over to the Fair...

We've started school again and both girls are enjoying the return to routine and activity. Allison is continuing to study American History, along with her general studies. Abby colors, plays and works on puzzles.

A "Toy Story" craze has hit our home recently. We've always loved the movies (own both) and now the girls have joined Chris and I in our love of the movies :) They now have their own toys to play with.

Pictures!

I finally have pictures - yah! These were taken throughout the summer, the ones at the end are from today. Enjoy!

The girls enjoy some time with water play in the backyard.

Yes...that's right. Abby got herself stuck. In the door. :)

Cousin Noah came to visit for a few days in June. Here they are, watching Finding Nemo and snacking on some popcorn!

Abby likes trains!

The girls spent an entire morning (no joke - it was about 3 hours, at least!) playing with their marble maze builder.

Our library's Story Time is great! There are songs, poems, ribbons, bells, puppets...and crafts!

Here's Abby looking at her latest favorite library book.

Allison is really enjoying reading and checks books out with her own library card now.

Last night, we made our annual trip to Oneonta Falls! This is our second trip with the girls and we had a lot of fun :) The water was cold, but it was much warmer than last year!

Today, the girls and I went swimming at the local pool - we had a really fun time!

Here's a video of Allison jumping off the diving board.

After swimming, we just had to have some ice cream! Don't worry, Abby had some too! I was just holding it for her while I took the picture. ;-)

Me 'n the girls.

These girls could probably swing all day long!

What a cutie-pie!

Aww...I have the most beautiful girls in the world - inside and out! What a blessing... :)

sorry!

I want to start out by apologizing for how long it's been since I last posted! We are all doing great! I'm afraid I've put off writing because I don't have any pictures - yikes! I keep forgetting to take my camera with me when we go places. I will endeavor to take some during the next few weeks - I promise!

After two months of VBS, camping, swim lessons, play dates, hiking and out-of-town visits...(whew!) we are using the month of August to "slow down" a bit. We are still enjoying visits with relatives, bike rides and frequent trips to the playground and library. Last weekend, we were able to go peach picking and berry picking! This weekend, we joined family out at Maryhill Winery for a picnic lunner (lunch/dinner) - the weather was nice and the view was spectacular. Thank you to Andrea for the fabulous food!

Allison is doing well with reading and is beginning to look forward to the start of school in a few weeks. We are starting to look into piano lessons for her. She is growing in her ability to ride her bike for longer distances. With the temperature picking up a bit again, she is hoping to go swimming a bunch this week!

Abby's vocabulary is booming! The things she says are always catching us off gaurd and causing us to laugh. Her latest fascination is with the "pinano" and she loves to sing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" while Chris plays for her :) She is learning colors and shapes right now.

That about catches us up for now! I'll try to get some pictures up in the next couple of weeks :) Till then, God bless...

Thank goodness

It seems like, every time I get on here to add a new post, another month has gone by! I'm so thankful that it's still July :)

Allison and Abby are both currently in swim lessons. Allison finished the Beginner II class with glowing reports from her teachers and has moved up to an Intermediate class. She is learning official swim strokes and techniques in deeper water. Abby and I are in the Mom and Me class. She is learning to float on her back, kick her feet to swim forward and blow bubbles in the water. All in all, it is very fun and refreshing, especially with the weather up in the 90's!

Here are a few pictures taken this last month - enjoy!

July...already??

Well, we're half way through July already! I can't believe it! We enjoyed a fun week of Vacation Bible School in June. The girls both had a lot of fun playing games, making crafts, enjoying friends and learning more about the Lord.

After VBS, we met up with Chris' parents and his brother's family for some good ol' fashion camping! We had a great time with wonderful weather. Allison and Abby really enjoyed going out on the boat and riding in the tube. Abby even fell asleep in it!

After camping, we headed up to the Puget Sound to visit with my side of the family for the 4th of July. The girls played with cousins and enjoyed the fireworks.

Now, back at home, Allison is in the middle of swim lessons - she's gettin' pretty good! Next week, she'll move from the Beginner II class to Intermediate, where she'll be learning swim strokes and traveling into the deeper end of the pool. She's already been swimming around the deep end and jumping off the diving board during our family swim nights, so this will be a great next step for her. Abby and I have been enjoying playground dates while Allison is swimming - it is so much fun! Next week, Abby and I will be taking the Mommy & Me swim class - Abby loves the water.

We've got more friends visiting this weekend and a possible fishing trip in the future. Whew! It's been a busy summer! We hope and pray that you are all doing well and enjoying your time in the sun :) God bless...
