AWANA

AWANA is an international Bible club for children that aims to instill the Word of God in their hearts and minds. Allison has been involved in our local AWANA club for the past three years.

This is her final year as a "Sparky" - next year, she'll move into the TNT (Truth 'N Training) group.

This is Abby's first year in AWANAs. She's a "Cubby" and has already earned four patches for Bible memorization!

Thankful

Happy Thanksgiving!

There are so many things that I'm thankful for this year ~ family, friends, good health, a warm home and so much more!

This month, both girls have been doing a little bit of "school work."

Allison has been working on some math review and cursive handwriting...

while Abby practices matching, letter tracing and coloring.

We finally got some snow today. The girls were ecstatic and Abby immediately asked if I'd set up the Christmas tree! :)

Eager for the holidays to get underway, the girls colored ornaments...

and pictures that I drew for them.

I made turkeys for an after-lunch snack....

and we started our annual reading of "Kaatje and the Christmas Compass." It's the story of a little dutch girl and her year leading up to St. Nicholas Day, which we'll be celebrating soon!

David's been growing quickly and we're guessing he weighs about 11lbs now!

He loves to keep a hand up by his face. :)

More Pictures

Here are some more pictures of David! He is two and a half weeks old and weighs over 9lb 6oz!

The girls have been busy getting lots of play time in, planning their St. Nicholas Day wish lists, memorizing Bible verses for AWANA, practicing their piano lesson and doing some school work.

David

David was born 10/20/2010, weighing in at 8lb 4oz and 21 1/2 inches long! I can't believe he's already a week old - the first week was something of a blur. :)

The girls love cooing to him and enjoy having a little brother.

In addition to little David, Chris and his dad replaced our old aluminum single paned windows with new double pane insulated windows - yah! Chris also installed a new garage door this week. (My husband is SO amazing!)

We are feeling tired, but so blessed. Thanks to everyone for their prayers!

What we've been up to!

At the beginning of the month, we cooked up a ton of food and filled both freezers with yummy meals and treats to eat after the baby arrives!

Some wonderful family came to visit and we went to the apple orchard together.

Gotta love all those apples and pears - yum!

Grandpa Cary and Grandma Andrea took the girls to the pumpkin patch.

Other than that, we've just been goofing around. :)

Autumn Update

Well, things are in full swing around here! The girls started the fall session of our homeschool co-op.

Abby is taking PE, Science and an Art/Music/Craft class.

Allison is taking Photography, PE and Science. (Notice the new braces!) Allison has also been taking piano lessons and is doing really well! Abby has been practicing how to write her name and is beginning to get the hang of it.

With just a few weeks left, I've started baking and cooking up food to freeze for use once our little David arrives. :)

Henry is growing and gaining character. He's so smart and knows how to sit and fetch already! Here's a little video of him playing:

Happy First Day of Autumn!

Today, we celebrated the first day of Autumn!

We had scrambled eggs, old fashioned donuts and apple cider for breakfast.

After lunch we baked Pillsbury sugar cookies with pumpkins on them (I did plan to actually bake cookies from scratch, but...well...I'm 8 months pregnant and ran out of time!) and had a few candy corn.

We set out some of our Autumn decorations and enjoyed the rainy weather. :)

I just love this season of remembering God's provision for us throughout the year!

Here's another picture of Henry, just for fun.
