David

David was born 10/20/2010, weighing in at 8lb 4oz and 21 1/2 inches long! I can't believe he's already a week old - the first week was something of a blur. :)

The girls love cooing to him and enjoy having a little brother.

In addition to little David, Chris and his dad replaced our old aluminum single paned windows with new double pane insulated windows - yah! Chris also installed a new garage door this week. (My husband is SO amazing!)

We are feeling tired, but so blessed. Thanks to everyone for their prayers!

What we've been up to!

At the beginning of the month, we cooked up a ton of food and filled both freezers with yummy meals and treats to eat after the baby arrives!

Some wonderful family came to visit and we went to the apple orchard together.

Gotta love all those apples and pears - yum!

Grandpa Cary and Grandma Andrea took the girls to the pumpkin patch.

Other than that, we've just been goofing around. :)

Autumn Update

Well, things are in full swing around here! The girls started the fall session of our homeschool co-op.

Abby is taking PE, Science and an Art/Music/Craft class.

Allison is taking Photography, PE and Science. (Notice the new braces!) Allison has also been taking piano lessons and is doing really well! Abby has been practicing how to write her name and is beginning to get the hang of it.

With just a few weeks left, I've started baking and cooking up food to freeze for use once our little David arrives. :)

Henry is growing and gaining character. He's so smart and knows how to sit and fetch already! Here's a little video of him playing:

Happy First Day of Autumn!

Today, we celebrated the first day of Autumn!

We had scrambled eggs, old fashioned donuts and apple cider for breakfast.

After lunch we baked Pillsbury sugar cookies with pumpkins on them (I did plan to actually bake cookies from scratch, but...well...I'm 8 months pregnant and ran out of time!) and had a few candy corn.

We set out some of our Autumn decorations and enjoyed the rainy weather. :)

I just love this season of remembering God's provision for us throughout the year!

Here's another picture of Henry, just for fun.

Henry

Here's the newest member of our family - Henry.

He's 11 weeks old today and weighs just under three pounds! He's half Shitzu and half miniature poodle, so he has a very pleasant disposition, is great with the kids, rarely barks and doesn't shed! We love him already, even though he's not totally house broken yet. :) Abby is learning to be careful and slow down, while Allison has been a huge help - taking Henry outside, entertaining him, keeping him out of the kitchen, etc. Chris has been teaching him to "sit" and "fetch" - which Henry has been picking up really quickly.

Days at Home

We've been busy but...home! Allison's started school and so we've been sticking closer to home this month.

My sister got married last weekend and we were blessed to have my nephew stay with us for a couple of nights!

Afternoon at the fair

After picking Allison up from soccer camp, I surprised the girls by taking them to the fair! We saw exotic animals, including a lot of snakes (ugh) and a baby tiger! There were horses, veggies, canned goods, cakes and quilts to ogle over and then we headed over to the rides.

Abby really enjoyed her first carousel ride!

Allison ran into a friend and they road the mini-coaster together.

It was pretty hot so we decided to cool down with yummy ice cream cones.

Last night, while going through some recipes online, I came across a super easy recipe for Blueberry Lemon Bars and decided to give it a try - YUM!
